Personal Trainer

Overview

Under indirect supervision, the Personal Trainer will plan and lead a range of individualized exercise programs for Clients, from beginner to advanced fitness levels. Communicate and work with Clients to ensure they reach their fitness goals. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Evaluate client health history questionnaire and assessment results, to determine appropriate exercise regiments.
  • Plan and implement individualized programs including general weight training, cardio, stretching, sport performance and rehab.
  • Determine format and content of exercise programs, based on the individual’s fitness ability and goals.
  • Be able to demonstrate and instruct Clients on proper techniques for weight training, from beginner to advanced exercises.
  • Monitor training equipment and ensures that equipment is in proper working order and returned to its proper place. (Report any problems to Head Trainer)
  • Advising Clients on program and gym policies and procedures as appropriate.
  • Tacking Clients progress and maintains complete and accurate Client files.
  • Ensures Clients adhere to safety and injury prevention policies and procedures and prepares accident reports as required.
  • May provide guidance and advice to other Trainers when required.

Occupational Requirements
  • University Kinesiology Degree or equivalent preferred. This may be substituted by relevant work experience of 2-5 years or more in the industry
  • Can Fit Pro or equivalent Certification
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Exceptional Level of Personal Training Knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent written skills. This candidate must have the ability to work within the company system of presentations and communication.
  • Strong skills in training and coaching others to develop to their own potential. The ability to hold others accountable for their own performance.
  • Non-Defensive, open-minded and able to learn and grow
